Suburban World
Fugitive, Bell's theorum
is twice as spooky
down on Silver Creek.
Suburbans, dumbly fueled by the times,
glide shark-like over the streets
and anxious garages
(with rooms for people)
litter the horizon,
neat as a row of dominoes.
Yawning, overhead doors -
anonymous vaults of servitude
perched behind morning papers
and obedient front lawns -
lack sense of place
and yearn like virgins
for their superstrings
to be untied.
