Volitions on a Gray Background
One
bared
thought:
an urban sky.
Now try
a flock of anonymous birds
sketched against that same sky
and Movement! How they move,
wheeled into flight
by a quick, imagining thrust
of thought. Such clutch and whirl
of birds upon sky hurls the scene
to a climaxing commotion –
Colored a mood that was,
but raked into an urgency
of what could be, the sky
bursts wild in blue.
