Moon Scar

At dawn all the previous evening's drab
Is gone. It is winter, and at six a.m.
The fresh morning sun sees frosty windows,
And the early-people wearing wool facades.

In the center of that same icy-blue sky,
Last night's moon residue remains: a scar;
Haloed like its midnight twin,
But pale and paper thin.
