Light Rain

I wish the cigarette lighter
I clutch in my hand
was my lover's heart.
I could ignite a flame
of affection
with a quick flip of my thumb.
Is it desire that I control?
Or control that I desire?
He clutches the reins
around my heart,
pulling back at each
impending union.
My cigarette lighter
never works in the rain.
