I. Brother
Since the accident
People tell me
how lucky
my niece and nephews
are to have such a good uncle.
I smile,
never mentioning the cost.
II. Richard
I can't believe I just became a father
to a Senior in High School
With a casual manner we call each other.
"Uncle Dave, I got my report card."
I tell him how proud I am.
"Can I come to the farm tomorrow after Tech School?"
We plan out what to do
Gotta get a real chain saw
(18" electric isn't really farm ready).
Buy a towrope,
(I already knew to get chest waders.)
"Oh, did I tell you me and Amber are official?"
"Yep, going steady."
God, I love that boy.
