Quiet!

I can see now
the wooden shape
of your symphony violin
a collectable, touting
music to a great sapphire horizon
of a faraway dream.
So young, frail,
is the answer to your question
worth its weight in gold?
I do not fit into
your spectrum of sighs
your rickety front
of contentment, your sly song.
Long ago you jumped
to melodies of words,
clapped to rhythms
under night's ebony dome.
Now the music is hidden
a faraway gesture
of sadness in string
quartet.
