An Idyllic Afternoon

The sun massages away tensions.
I relax beneath its strong arms.

You sit with your head thrown back,
mouth partly open as if swallowing the day.

I tickle your lips with a blade of grass.
You laugh and capture it with your teeth.

You snap a flower at its stem,
and use its bloom to paint my portrait.

I am both the canvas and model,
we frame it with the afternoon.
