Spring Wine an excerpt from the story Rock fought it, but it began to drift over him again. The chantings, and the music, and the smell of the flowers, and the strange green girl. "It's always Spring here, Star-Traveler. Always a warm winds blessing, always a soft azure sky. Violence and death are impossible here. Come, enjoy eternal Spring." She beckoned Rock onward with a graceful wave of her hand, and turned, her golden hair swishing at waist length. She glided smoothly toward an enormous rose trellis, and again paused to wait for him. "It is always Spring here, Star-Traveler. Always newly created, always pregnant with possibilities. No fear, no despair. You will see when you've been changed. Come." Rock could not take in all of the glorious flowers that filled the area around him with color and fragrance. Where in the universe was he? The green girl's soft smile welcomed him. The whole place was like a marvelous dream. He felt he could float in it forever, and it would never change. "Wait!" Rock jerked to a halt, resisting the impelling softness of the girl's voice. "What do you mean changed?" "Changed into all of your potentialities. Changed from all of your fear and greed. Come, enjoy eternal life." ~Karleen E.
