ekleipsis

the brightness of summer
met by a winter night's darkness
in non-collision, a quiet passage of one
before the other

time stands still, like
sculptures, marble-heavy
the wind holds its breath, like
spellbound children, finger to lips

there is no hurry:
they follow a pattern, yet there is
room for riddles in the shadow
of the dark new moon
