I Want To Bloom

Tumbling from the basket hung
my life pours green.
Fuchsia breasts open milk white hearts.
I summer endless deadhead days.

Wilted blossoms let go their soft handhold
and fall,
nectar stripped by humming
birds hover bowing fronds.

Teardrops of fruit refused,
pods picked fat with seed
force new blooms
I feed with fertile water stream
pushing life and life
in slow arms before fall’s cold
sleeps in my veins.
