Attitude Aptitude
To be the best cat
I can possibly be
my emotions must
be kept in check.
No rushing to greet
my owner home,
no begging for food,
or a leash-guided trek.
The mistress and master
must always believe
I respond when I want,
not just when they call.
Tapping my tail
on the windowsill
and looking bored
is proper protocol.
Reserved and regal
are the bywords
we felines mirror
and must not forget.
For it's in our character
to seemingly snub
and not need love;
it's simply etiquette.
