Eclipse
When two moons rise
over the jaded hills
their lamp light dims
the passion
night hunt of dogs
who woo the mistress goose,
her shells laid
on stains straw damp.
Crows sit black
beads on pumpkins.
Coyotes bay.
The shadowed sun girdles
their goose mistress
in night’s brown nod,
her blood feathers
gutted clean to wing,
her egg youth bitten
by dark eclipse.
