Combustion

Firelight dances
on the wall,
our entwined shadows
seemingly consumed
by the flames.

Stoking the blaze,
heat surges,
temperatures rise beyond
measureable levels of climate
or passion.

Our fever intensifies as
the hearth fire
subsides to embers;
we reach flash point
and combust.
