Cave Man
Deep in the mountains
where rock breaks through the earth
with brute strength,
we wear animal heads with tongues lolling out
down our backs.
One small fire doesn't warm us;
we eat our food raw.
You follow me down
into the depths
where rock heats up.
The center is our bed.
We are the ones whose
friction sparks the flame
that keeps the earth alive.
