Reluctant Request

Please, do not tell me it is time.
Let me remain tightly wrapped
in my chrysalis of toasty quilts
snuggled there till I
am ready to emerge on my own.
Silent, a reluctant gray moth
sliding from the cocoon of warmth
to fly with wings unfolded
into the cold breath of day.
