White Sage

White Sage,
released by fire
you smolder
in red tin.

Acid white
glowing,
you hang
layered in air.

Swaddled by smoke,
cleansed, purified
by your silken smudge,
in flame-flicker,

to the song of
Far Horse, Pine Song,
Running Wolf,
we drum the night.
