Sigh
Today is my 25th birthday,
a tearful day.
I have become
'spoiled sponge cake.'
At 38 my brother
is romansuguray.*
His salt and pepper hair
is alluring to young women.
My blue/black and silky hair
hangs between my shoulders;
not a speck of salt,
yet I am too old
for most men to notice.
As cherry blossoms
helicopter to earth
the sky cries with me.

*Note: 'romansuguray' is a Japanese word for debonair older gentleman which loosely translates to 'salt and pepper hair'.
