Where He Has Been
for Jasper
bounding to the waterhole
barking in the bluebells
tickles my memories
scoot n' boogie in the sand
we laughed, "He's berserk"
on my dog's white muzzle
a pink lipstick print
dogs romping
in the snow . . .
ravens caw
caw
caw
diagnosis: cancer
final trip
to his last sigh
goodbye
walking and crying
following his pawprints
frozen in the trail
