Act of Nature The sky reflected my soul, gray and dark. I walked along the
forest path feeling sorry for myself. All my faults and failures, my temptations
and sins clung to my mind and made me feel filthy. I sat down on a log to cry,
when something fell from above. I looked up to see a raindrop just before it hit
my skin. A shower began, transforming my gray surroundings into something
beautiful. I watched as the little drops bounced off the leaves and rested in
colorful puddles. They ran down my skin, cleansing me inside and out. This
simple act of nature was pulling me from my darkness. I smiled and watched as
the sun broke free from the clouds. I felt whole again. I felt pure. ~Megan Sheedy She writes, "I'm from Central Illinois. I spend days reading, writing, and caring for my eight-month-old baby girl, Destiny." E-mail. © 2002 by Megan Sheedy. All Rights Reserved.
