Shut-In
The UPS man smokes at my door,
has taken to calling me, "hon."
The ruptured air sears
as pollen and pen inch in.
I know when he has not shaved.
He knows when I have not cleaned.
I sign in hurried scribble
and smile at the hum of his truck.
His ashes stain my carpet.
Just that much is enough.
