Close to the gaping maw of debt,
It hasn't quite caught me yet.
Skirting ruin, flirting disaster,
Make more money, faster, faster!
Wasting every moment's wage,
Keeping up with fashion's rage.
Wondering from birth to clover,
When will the finance race be over?
Just musing at the latitude
Of my creditors' ingratitude...
Oh goodness, isn't this funny?
I have more month than I have money!
Always seeking more "good deals,"
Making a mountain of overdue bills;
But never quite getting the knack
Of keeping my accounts in the black!
